Maryam Nawaz Exempted from Appearing in Court for the Sugar Mills Case

Maryam Nawaz, Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), has been granted immunity from appearing in court for the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case on Friday, 22nd November.

The court accepted Maryam Nawaz’s plea seeking exemption from court appearances for the Sugar Mills Case. Maryam Nawaz was accompanied by her cousin Yousaf Abbas when she went in front of the court today, presented by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The lawyer of Maryam Nawaz submitted an application during the hearing, requesting the court to grant exemption to his client. The request has been accepted until the filing of a reference against her in the case.

Furthermore, the court has also granted exemption to the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after another request submitted by the lawyer. Nawaz Sharif has been exempted for four weeks while he undergoes medical treatment in London. The hearing for the case has been adjourned till then and will continue on 6th December.
